Awards and Recognitions
AWARDS and RECOGNITION ASSEMBLIES for GRADES 1-5

Green School strongly supports recognizing student achievement in the areas of academics, athletics and individuality. Special recognition assemblies for Grades 1-5 are held three times during the school year, at the end of each reporting period. Letters will go home with students who are to receiving an award to notify parents of date and time. Parents and families are encouraged to attend these assemblies. Refreshments will follow in the lunch court.

SUPERSTAR AWARDS
Students who demonstrate exemplary behavior and complete a minimum of 95% of all class assignments along with homework assignments and monthly reading minutes will receive a special award.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE
Students who are in attendance every day and on time for class will receive a Perfect Attendance Award.

PRESIDENT'S AWARD FOREDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE
This award is presented at the end of the school year and recognizes 5th graders who have maintained Honor Roll Status all three reporting periods.

SCHOOL SERVICE AWARDS
At the end of the school year students who participated in school service projects will receive recognition. These services include cafeteria helpers, flag crew, equipment and bus monitors.

HONOR ROLL
At the end of each reporting period 4th and 5th grade students who earned all:

1's – Outstanding Progress
2's – Very Good Progress
XR – Exceptional Reader
ER – Experienced Reader
E – Excellent Effort
G – Good Effort

In all subjects and report card categories (including PE and Music) will be placed on the Principal's Honor Roll.

GECKO PRIDE
Students will be awarded for their unique contributions to the school in both academic, social and leadership settings.

ALL STAR
Students can receive an All Star Award in physical education at the end of every unit. Requirements include active participation, a positive attitude and students doing their personal best. Students grade themselves at the end of class with a thumbs up-outstanding, sideways-satisfactory or thumbs down-unacceptable. Students who experience problems in meeting the 90% criteria will bring home a pink slip each month explaining what the problem is.If your child is experiencing difficulty in P.E., please schedule a meeting with the P.E. teachers to develop a plan for success.
